My Story

Hi, I’m Tracey, and this is my story.

From a young age, I knew I was meant to be in service to others. After high school, eager to make a difference, I pursued a degree in paramedicine and stepped into the adrenaline-fueled world of emergency medical services. Being a first responder was exhilarating, but over time, the emotional and physical toll became undeniable. PTSD was a reality of the job, so I decided to pivot—returning to school to earn my BSN in nursing. I believed this was the path to success, yet something still felt misaligned. My body, mind, and spirit were out of sync with my true calling. The imbalance manifested into illness, forcing me to confront a deeper truth: I was not living in alignment with my purpose.

A Wake-Up Call

One morning, I woke up with a large red ring on my leg and felt like I had been hit by a train. It would take 18 months before I received a diagnosis—Lyme disease. Years of antibiotics and endless days of pain and nausea followed. Western medicine wasn't providing the relief I desperately needed, and I realized I had to shift my approach.

Healing, I discovered, was about perception—how we see our experiences and the choices we make in response. I began exploring natural medicine, determined to find a different way forward.

The Path of Plant Medicine

Cannabis was the first plant to guide me on my healing journey. It helped manage my pain and nausea, offering me the relief that conventional treatments could not. A close friend, a cultivator, taught me how to grow my own medicine. But living in North Carolina, where cannabis was still criminalized, limited my options. Colorado, however, offered the freedom I needed.

In 2000, I left western medicine behind and moved to the Colorado Rocky Mountains. There, I fully immersed myself in holistic healing, exploring new modalities and deepening my relationship with plant medicine. By 2001, I became a registered medical marijuana caregiver under Colorado Amendment 20, using my knowledge as a cultivator and nurse to help clients suffering from chronic and terminal illnesses.

My passion for healing continued to evolve. In 2003, I became certified in Clinical and Regression Hypnotherapy, guiding clients to access the subconscious mind for relaxation and pain control. Over the years, I expanded my understanding of plant medicine, regression hypnosis, and other holistic modalities.

For two decades, I worked with cannabis, developing protocols that helped people manage and often heal from debilitating conditions. My reverence for this sacred plant has only deepened, as it continues to amaze me with its powerful healing abilities.

Returning to My True Calling

In 2010, I stepped into the commercial cannabis industry, working as GM for one of Colorado’s pioneering operators. It was an incredible experience—helping build an industry from the ground up—but something was missing. I longed for the deep, personal connections I had with private clients. My heart was in the medicinal, spiritual aspects of cannabis, and I felt called to return to one-on-one healing work.

By 2018, I left the corporate side of cannabis and refocused on my coaching practice. However, the demands of life and work caught up with me, and I found myself in another battle with Lyme disease. This time, the struggle felt darker, heavier. I spiraled into despair, feeling as if I had lost myself entirely. But in my darkest moments, something profound happened—an awakening that led me beyond my physical pain and mental suffering. I met the divine within myself and began a journey inward, discovering a spiritual understanding of life I had never known before.

The Power of Entheogen Medicine

Healing is not just physical. It is mental, emotional, and—above all—spiritual.

A healer friend introduced me to microdosing entheogen mushrooms, and the transformation was nothing short of miraculous. My depression and anxiety—rooted in PTSD—began to dissolve. The chronic pain I had lived with for years started to fade. My energy returned, my relationships deepened, and, for the first time in a long time, I felt like I was meeting my true self again—only this time, it was a more whole, awakened version of me.

Through this journey, I’ve learned that trauma is stored deep within us, affecting both our physical and spiritual well-being. True healing comes from within, guided by the wisdom of nature and our connection to the divine.

Now, I understand why my life unfolded the way it did. Every experience, every struggle, was preparing me for this moment—to help others rediscover their own inner healer. I believe that our bodies are incredible instruments of healing, and when we tune into the divine frequency, we can restore the mind, body, and spirit to their natural state of balance.

I used to believe healing was just physical. Then, I thought it was mostly mental. Now, I know the truth: All healing is spiritual.

I am here to help others walk that path.

Love and Blessings,

-Tracey Hornsby
